ABOUT ME
I worked as an employee of Gordon Food Service for over 40 years. Retirement from GFS has provided me the opportunity to pursue something that I believe matches my beliefs and strengths. I have been married to Ruth Clark since 1987. We have 4 adult kids: Allison (Mike) Larson in Bremerton, WA who are parents to just over 1 year old Henry. Austin (Heather) Clark live in Belmont, MI and are parents to Lennon (4), Ezra (2), and Chloe (3 mo). Brianne lives in Grand Rapids and is a licensed massage therapist at Salos Salon. Freddie lives in Richmond, VA and is a licensed truck driver, heading into the Army. I enjoy involvement with our church, triathlons, and golfing.
VALUES HIGHLIGHTS
Responsibility-Take psychological ownership of anything you committed to-feeling emotionally bound to follow it through. Excuses and rationalizations are totally unacceptable. Impeccable ethics. Utterly dependable - people come to me cause they know it will get done.
Deliberative-Careful, vigilant, private, serious, approach life with reserve, select friends cautiously, life is something of a minefield, identifies dangers, weigh relative impact, then places feet deliberately. Walk with care.
Harmony-Look for areas of agreement. Little to be gained from conflict and friction - hold to a minimum. Harmony is a guiding value. Can't believe how much time is wasted by people trying to impose their views on others. When others sound off, you hold your peace. There is no need to rock the boat just to show that you can.
Belief-Strong belief theme - certain core values that are enduring. Often causes you to be family oriented, altruistic, even spiritual, and to value responsibility and high ethics-both in self and others. These core values affect my behavior. Success is more than money and prestige. Beliefs provide you with direction, guiding you through the tempations and distractions of life toward a consistent set of priorities. Easy to trust. Belief value demands that you find work that meshes with your values. Your work must be meaningful; it must matter to you. Guided by your belief theme it will matter only if it gives you a chance to live out your values.
Discipline-Your world needs to be predictable, ordered and planned. Instinctively impose structure on your world. Want to feel in control. Don't need to be controlling though. These behaviors can be understood as your instinctive method for maintaining your progress and your productivity in the face of life's many distractions.
